Opening Kindercampus Zuidas

A new gem has arrived in Amsterdam! The Kindercampus Zuidas at the Ravel has officially opened its doors — and I'm so proud to have been part of bringing it to life as project architect during my time at RAU Architects.

This isn't just a school. It's a thoughtfully designed environment where every detail matters — from the furniture you sit on, to the hooks for your coat, to the spaces where wet shoes can dry. Children's daily movements were studied through observation days, and that knowledge shaped every corner of the building.

At its heart, the school follows OGO — Ontwikkelingsgericht Onderwijs (Development-Oriented Education) — rooted in Vygotsky's developmental psychology. The idea: children learn best through interaction with each other and their environment.

The building is designed around a deep connection with nature and the joy of discovery. Spatial elements throughout invite children to explore, wonder, and learn through play — sparking curiosity at every turn.

Congratulations to RAU Architects and the City of Amsterdam on this beautiful addition to the Zuidas.
